DIVERSIFIED investigations llc, in partnership with the Heart of the Valley Chamber present the 1st Annual Workplace Violence Seminar. 
This seminar will examine how domestic abuse issues affect the workplace and what can be done to mitigate the risk. The Department of Labor reports victims of domestic violence lose nearly 8 million days of paid work per year resulting in $1.8 billion loss.
Brookfield Police Department will present a case study on the 2012 Azana Spa Mass Shooting. Four people, including the shooter, died in the incident and four others were injured. The shooter was identified as 45 year-old Radcliffe Haughton, the estranged husband of a spa worker killed in the shooting.
Attorney Robert Simandl, the founding member of the boutique employer-side Human Resources Law Firm the Simandl Law group, will discuss with attendees the legal musts, and must nots, of an effective Workplace Violence Policy. “Employer and employee awareness of the legal risks associated with workplace safety cannot be overstated,” said Simandl. “To not be proactive on this issue is a formula for legal liability that just cannot be insured over. Good planning and training is a “must” in addressing workplace violence.” Mr. Simandl has over 30 years of experience counselling employers in the workplace issues.
Harbor House Community Education Coordinator, Tracy Plamann, will present on how domestic violence impacts the workplace.

Fraud Prevention and Detection Seminar
